Framing a scenery or a subject correctly or keeping the camera straight are other aspects you should take into account. Fortunately, framing mistakes are easier to repair, especially with the right application. SCRAP Photo Editor is designed specifically for this purpose. It allows you to rotate, crop and scale your pictures without any effort. In addition, the application places a few useful tools at your disposal, for sharing your pictures by email and for creating photo-based gifts, like mugs, lockets, t-shirts and more.

SCRAP Photo Editor is absolutely free and it can be installed in a few moments. You can associate it with various graphical formats during the installation process. Also, you will have to close certain programs until the setup wizard is done installing. The application works on Windows XP and all later editions and it doesn't require a significant amount of disk space, RAM or processing power.

When launched, the application will display three options, for opening a picture from your local folders, opening one of its sample photos and for accessing a series of video tutorials, which can help you get started. The main user interface has a clean and simple layout, so you don't have to go over the tutorials, especially if you are familiar with any other image editor. After loading a picture, you can start using the crop, rotate and scale tools, which are presented on a toolbar. The image can be cropped and rotate just by clicking and dragging.

To scale a picture, you have to specify its new dimensions on a separate window. Alternatively, you can choose a preset scale, for emailing, sharing or Facebook and for other purposes. You can also find cropping and rotation controls on the same window. Instead of clicking and dragging, you can specify exact values, if you wish to crop or rotate with pin-point accuracy. The software provides Undo and Redo options as well, in case you make a mistake.

Besides transforming the loaded picture, you can also send it by email, in its current state, by clicking an icon, on the aforementioned toolbar. Additionally, you can upload your photo to the developer's website, along with a text caption, if you wish to create gifts. Once the picture is uploaded, you can preview the gifts, with your picture and caption, on the same website.
